In 1998 Judy started seeing the number 444, mostly waking up at 4:44 A.M. Over the years she started seeing the number in all sorts of places, phone numbers, account numbers, license plates, addresses, prices, etc. Cars with license plates containing 444 would pull out in front of her or be on the road coming from the other direction while she was driving. Along the way she met someone else who saw this number and explained to her that a lot of people see it and directed her to a Shirley McClain website which had information about what it meant, angelic presence. After meeting this person the instances just increased and were at times uncanny. She also found out there was a book about the 4s called "The Messengers" by Julia Ingram and G.W. Hardin. The book explains about the phenomenon.

During her creation of two of the songs on her CD: Anymore and You’ll be on my mind, she was using her mini disc recorder to put down her ideas on both of these songs and she inadvertently stopped the recorder at 4:44. Her idea for calling her record ‘444’ originally came from that occurrence. Later, her engineer Chris Rival was making an edit and said 444 out loud. After that she explained to him about the 4s and that she had been planning on calling her record that, he didn’t know anything about the 4s
until then.

She started taking pictures of some of the places she saw the 4s, thinking she would incorporate these and they became part of the liner notes of her CD. The strangest of which was a license plate with her initials on it!
